COLONEL KATHLEEN M. HASSON

Col Kathleen M. Hasson is the Commander, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC) Detachment 910, and Chairs the Department of Aerospace Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. In this capacity, she is charged with recruiting, developing, and commissioning the next generation of Air and Space Force leaders.

Col Hasson earned her commission as a graduate with military distinction from the United States Air Force Academy in 2000. She is a command pilot with over 2,600 hours and over 1,000 combat hours, primarily in the C-17. She has deployed in support of Operations Northern Watch, Enduring and Iraqi Freedom as well as multiple other deployments in Southwest Asia. Col Hasson has held positions at the squadron, group, wing, and headquarters level and has joint experience at Allied Joint Force Command, Naples, Italy. Prior to her current position, she served as Commander, 305th Air Mobility Wing, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey.

Mrs. Laura Harrington is a U.S. Navy Veteran and the longest-tenured team member of the Detachment 910 team.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Oregon and her Master of Public Administration degree from Portland State University.  Mrs. Harrington is a 2-time recipient of the University of Washington Distinguished Staff award.  Working remotely from Virginia, Mrs. Harrington coordinates multiple components of the overall program, including cadet and department finance, academic success, and cadre training.

MAJOR CAMDEN K. SCOGGIN

Major Camden K. Scoggin is the Operations Flight Commander at Detachment 910, University of Washington, Seattle. She oversees the planning and execution of all Professional Military Training events for the Department of the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps detachment and instructs courses in leadership, national security, and Department of the Air Force history. Detachment 910 is affiliated with nine colleges and universities in the Seattle area and has around 90 officer candidates.

Maj Scoggin graduated from Norwich University in 2015 and commissioned as a Second Lietenant in 2016 through Officer Training School. After commissioning, she was assigned to the 48th Fighter Wing at Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England. There she worked as the Assistant Installation Deployment Officer before being selected for base-level cross-training into Aircraft Maintenance. She served as the Assistant Officer In Charge in the 493rd Aircraft Maintence Unit for USAFE’s sole F-15C unit. Maj Scoggin returned to the 48th Logistics Readiness Squadron as the Materiel Management Flight Commander. Following her time at RAF Lakenheath she was stationed at Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington. During the assignment at Fairchild AFB she served as the Deputy Flight Commander of the Logistics Flight for the 336th Training Support Squadron and the Executive Officer for the 336th Training Group. Prior to her current position she was a member of Air Mobility Command’s Phoenix Horizon Mobility program, a 4-star command-level professional development fellowship, serving as the Chief of Logistics, U.S. Air Force Expeditionary Center, Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey. During her time in the Phoenix Hoirzon Mobility program she deployed to Joint Task Force-Bravo, Honduras, as the Deputy J-4 where she supported humanitarian and disaster relief in the Central America area of responsibility.

TECHNICAL SERGEANT AUSTIN N. SMITH

TSgt Austin N. Smith is the Officer Accessions Instructor at Detachment 910, University of Washington, Seattle. He oversees many of the administrative requirements associated with cadet enrollment through commissioning. Additionally, he instructs courses focused on leadership, followership, and the skills required of future officers.
TSgt Smith joined the United States Air Force in May 2013 and completed Basic Military Training in July 2013. He subsequently graduated from the Basic Signals and Morse Operating Courses at Goodfellow Air Force Base, Texas, and Fort Huachuca, Arizona, in 2013. Following technical training, TSgt Smith was assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, where he served as a Morse Operator and Data Acquisition Senior Mission Manager. TSgt Smith’s next assignment was to Fort Meade, Maryland, where he served as a Field Operations Technician and Multidiscipline Support Analyst. During his assignment at Fort Meade, he deployed to Afghanistan in support of tactical signals intelligence operations. Prior to his current assignment, TSgt Smith served at Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado, as a Target Discovery Senior Analyst and Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge.

STAFF SERGEANT AVERY O. SUMMERS

Staff Sergeant Summers is the Administrative NCO at Detachment 910, University of Washington, Seattle. He oversees the administrative aspects for Detachment 910, such as commissioning, contracting, scholarships, as well as uniform inventory, safety, and leave.
SSgt Summers joined the United States Air Force on November 3, 2015, and completed Basic Military Training on December 25, 2015. He started as a Med Tech (4N0x1) at Joint Base Fort Sam Houston, Texas, but was later moved to Administrative Assistant (3F0x1) at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi. SSgt Summers was then assigned to Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, where he was Commander Support Staff (CSS) for the 338th AW, 38th RS, and for 16th WS. During his assignment at Offutt, SSgt Summers was deployed for Iraq for Joint Operations. His next assignment was a short tour to Istanbul, Turkey as a Mail Clerk. Before his current assignment SSgt Summers, was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base for four years. He worked for the Commander Support Staff for Finance and was moved over to 317th Air Maintenance Squadron for the remainder of his stay at Dyess Air Force Base. He was also deployed to Kuwait to support the mission with 386th EMXS as their Commander Support Staff.
